At the symposium today in Washington D. C, America’s President Barack Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and other leaders in the global food security and agriculture landscape will discuss G8 efforts to advance global agricultural development and food and nutrition security in Africa.
Participants will range from African heads of state, to international aid organizations, to scientific and academic institutions.
World Economic Forum, the Chicago Council on Global Affairs is holding this third annual Symposium on Global Agriculture and Food Security .

The price of tomatoes went up at the Agbogbloshie, Kumasi Central, Takoradi and Hohoe markets at all trading levels over the week .
At the wholesale trading level, prices went up by 29 percent (GH¢ 4.00 to GH¢5.19), 3 percent (GH¢2.94 to GH¢3.03), 14 percent (GH¢3.50 to GH¢4.00) and 20 percent (GH¢5.00 to GH¢6.00) respectively.
Retail prices of the commodity went up by 30 percent (GH¢3.84 to GH¢5. (GH¢2.30 to GH¢2.50), 7 percent (GH¢2.80 to GH¢3.00) and 13 percent (GH¢3.80 to GH¢4.30) respectively.
